A single player may carry up to 14 clubs during tournament play, according to the U.S. Golf Association. Players working as partners may share clubs, but their total number of clubs also is restricted to a maximum of 14.
Players who start a round with fewer than 14 clubs may add more during the round, as long as the addition does not cause a delay in play. Players who start with the maximum 14 clubs may not switch out clubs or borrow from other players during the round. Match players who breach the club rule have a maximum of two holes deducted from their final score.
