This compares to 5 billion pizzas ordered on a worldwide scale each year. The most popular pizza topping is pepperoni, included on 36 percent of pizzas ordered. Nearly 252 pounds of pepperoni are consumed on pizza every year. Anchovies are the least popular topping. Pizza companies are constantly trying new topping ideas.
