How many voyages did Hernando de Soto make?

Hernando de Soto is known to have made at least three major expeditions during his lifetime. As a teen, he sailed to the West Indies. In 1532, he accompanied Francisco Pizarro to Peru. His last voyage was to North America.

Hernando de Soto left Spain as a teenager to follow his desire to explore the West Indies. While there, he became rich from participating in the slave trade. He was second in command when he joined Pizarro to explore and conquer Peru. Upon returning to Spain, he married and enjoyed a wealthy lifestyle.

In 1538, de Soto went on his last expedition, where he explored what is now the American South.
