How many years does law school last?

The average law degree program takes three years to complete. In rare circumstances, law schools may grant students an extension on the time taken to obtain the degree. However, most schools require law students to stick with the three-year time frame.
Most law school graduates spend a total of seven years in college or university before taking the bar exam and beginning the practice of law. While law schools do not require students to hold bachelor's degrees in a particular subject, they do require them to have an undergraduate degree prior to admission. Most bachelor's degrees take four years to earn.
