How often do maps on Magellan GPS update?

Magellan provides map upgrades about once every 15 months, as of 2015. To see if your GPS device is eligible for a software upgrade, connect the device to a computer and run the Magellan Content Manager.

After the Magellan Content Manager successfully connects to the GPS device, click on the application icon located in the lower right portion of the screen and click the Check for Updates Now button. If there is a map upgrade or software update available, the Content Manager prompts you to download or purchase the update. Once the update completes the installation process, restart your GPS device.
