A mass airflow meter works to measure how much air an engine receives and it helps to compensate for its density. Most modern vehicles have this sensor as a part of their computer controlled engine system.
A mass airflow meter is usually between the air filter and the engine, it a plastic housing compartment. The sensor transmits messages to the computer component of the engine and the measurements that the sensor takes work to calculate spark timing and how much fuel delivery is necessary. To determine the airflow that goes into the air intake, the sensor uses an electrically charged wire.
