Researchers at Purdue University find that water, rock and salt hold solar heat in the longest. When using these materials to transfer solar energy to homes and businesses, communities may eventually reach the goal of providing sustainable energy to citizens.
Scientists and energy professionals constantly search for a way to economically and efficiently transfer energy from the sun to consumers. One way is by using an air transfer system. However, this is a technology that researchers are in the process of perfecting. It is hoped that in time, most homes and businesses in the U.S. will get their electricity from solar energy.
