From what material are jeans made?

Jeans are made of denim or dungaree cloth, which are both woven from yarn. The only significant difference in denim and dungaree is the order in which they are dyed.

Jeans were originally designed for cowboys, miners and other workers that needed tough yet comfortable pants. However, by the 1950s, jeans became popular as everyday pants as well. There are a wide variety of colors and cuts. Jeans can be dyed with different inks, resulting in different colored pants, although blue jeans are the most popular. Common cuts of jeans are skinny, straight, boot cut, low waist and flared.
