What materials are used to make drums?

Copper, wood or brass is used to make the drumhead, while a drum's top is stretched over with plastic or calfskin. The material that is used to make the drumhead depends on the type of drum.
A timpani or kettledrum has a drumhead that is made of copper, while a snare drum has a drumhead that is made of brass or copper. A bass drum also has a drumhead that is made of brass or copper, but when compared to a snare drum, a bass drum is bigger and does not have a snare. Calfskin or plastic is pulled over the top of either of these drums.
