It only took builders 1 year and 45 days to construct the Empire State Building. This building dates back to 1931, and at the time, it was revolutionary for a skyscraper. The building has 102 stories and it is 1,250 feet tall. It consists of 60,000 tons of steel, 10 million bricks, 200,000 cubic feet of granite and limestone and 730 tons of stainless steel and aluminum. Until the building of the World Trade Center in 1972, it was the world's tallest building.
