What is a data table?

A data table works to provide relational information. Those creating a table use columns and rows to arrange the various data.

To create a basic table, you must add rows and columns. Columns are set up from top to bottom, and rows are side to side. The first row does not count as a row for data because this is where you will input the column name. Those who work with data tables refer to that first row as a header row. People familiar with creating data tables can make them more sophisticated by adding things like annotations, footers, metadata and headers.
