What size is a table tennis table?

As regulated by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), the table in the game of table tennis is 9 feet long, 5 feet wide and 30 inches high. The table is divided into two halves by a 6-inch-high net.

In addition to regulated measurements, the table must yield a uniform bounce of roughly 9.1 inches when a standard ball is dropped from a height of 11.8 inches. For approval by the ITTF, the table must be constructed of wood or a wood derivative rather than concrete, plastic composites, polymers or resins. The game of table tennis is commonly sold under the "Ping-Pong" trademark.
