The first six non-negative cube numbers are 0, 1, 8, 27, 64 and 125. These are the cubes of the numbers zero through five. A cube is the product of a number multiplied by itself and then by itself again.
A cube is also a number to the third power, designated exponentially as n^3, where n is the base number. A positive number cubed is always positive. A negative number cubed is always negative because a negative times a negative equals a positive, and multiplying that positive times a negative yields a negative product. For example -1^3 is -1 x -1 x-1. Multiplying -1 x -1 equals 1, and 1 x -1 = -1.
