When does Mazda plan to release the CX-5 diesel engine in the USA?

As of October 2015, the CX-5 diesel engine was available in the United States in the 2016 CX-5. Production on the CX-5 diesel engine from Mazda began in 2012. According to Mazda, the engine is the first diesel engine to comply with global exhaust regulations.

Thanks to Mazda innovation, the CX-5 produces less emissions but provides higher performance and efficiency. It gets around 35 miles per gallon on the highway. The CX-5 seats up to five adults comfortably and its fuel mileage rivals some hybrids. The CX-5 provides more cargo space than the Kia Sportage and the Hyundai Tucson and has a starting MSRP of only $21,795.
