How do you measure windows for blinds?

Measure windows for blinds by getting height and width measurements to fit the type of blinds you want to install. Outside mount blinds will require different measurements than inside mount blinds.

1. Record the width of the window

   For inside mount blinds, measure the top of the window exactly from one side to the other. For outside mount blinds, simply give your desired width and height for the finished product.

2. Record the height of the window

   For inside mount blinds, measure the height of the window in three places - left, center and right - and take the longest measurement.

3. Note any obstructions to installation

   Be sure to record any doorknobs or other fixtures that may block the blinds.
