For a family of three, monthly income must be at or below $934 to qualify for Medi-Cal. If monthly income exceeds the limit to qualify, you may still be eligible by paying a share of cost.
Medi-Cal is California’s free health insurance program for low income individuals and families, the disabled, pregnant women, senior citizens and people with certain diseases and conditions. Medi-Cal pays for services such as prescription drugs, doctor visits, dental, vision, ambulance services, home health and medical equipment. Applications for Medi-Cal can be completed online at the My Benefits Cal webpage, at a local Social Services Office or by calling 800-281-9799.
