Medicaid covers hearing aids for all children under the age of 21, according to the Hearing Loss Association of America. Coverage for hearing aids for adults over the age of 21 varies by state.
While some states cover adults as extensively as children, there are many that do not have coverage for adults. The list provided by the Hearing Loss Association of America as of 2015 indicates that as many as 22 states have little or no coverage for hearing aids for adults, with even more states setting limitations on the available health care provided for patients with partial or complete hearing loss.
