Excedrin followed with a 24 percent vote and Advil with a 23 percent vote, notes Daily News. Other major headache medications include Aleve, Motrin IB and Ecotrin. WebMD recommends avoiding caffeine-containing products while using over-the-counter headache medications, and people with liver problems should avoid Tylenol, which contains acetaminophen.
