Does megalodon still exist?

The megalodon became extinct about 2.6 million years ago during the Cenozoic Era. Due to loss of habitat and lack of viable food sources, it is extremely unlikely that any megalodon exist today. There is no scientific evidence to suggest it.

The megalodon was an extremely large species of shark, physically similar to the modern great white shark. The largest fossilized megalodon remains are nearly 60 feet long and include a jaw large enough to swallow a car. Baleen whales were the primary food source for the megalodon, and the decrease in whale populations in the Miocene Era was probably a major contributing factor in the megalodon's extinction.
