The COMAND navigation system is standard on the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and CL-Class models. Most other Mercedes models offer this built-in GPS navigation as an optional extra.
Navigation aid with real-time traffic and voice activation is optional in the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, SLK-Class and GLK-Class models.
The COMAND system, short for cockpit management and data system, is used to operate the a number of systems, including the navigation system, the telephone, video, the system settings, the Internet and the digital operator's manual, depending on the vehicle model. The system uses a flat-screen display and also allows steering wheel controls to be used alongside the main buttons.
