Does the Military Diet work?

The Military Diet might help you lose a few pounds, but it will likely be difficult to keep the weight off, according to expert reviews. The plan is built around a three day on/four day off model of dieting, but even the days off require no more than 1,500 calories.
The Military Diet is not sustainable over the long term since only low-calorie, basic foods, such as grapefruit and saltine crackers, are allowed on dieting days. In addition, some of the foods included on the diet plan, such as hot dogs and ice cream, should not be a regular part of a healthy diet.
Despite the name, the diet does not have any real-life connection to the military.
