How does the military use math?

The military uses mathematics to solve different problems, whether it is to determine how different elements of a certain technology work or to find out how a defense system is used. Also, they use their mathematical knowledge to ascertain if they should invest in certain weaponry and systems or not.

Military officials solve problems by taking them apart into subsequent pieces and figuring out how every piece works individually as well as in a group, on a regular basis. Plus, they need to determine the consequences of each strategy they make to counteract that problem, which is all basic mathematics.
