Are there millionaires who give away money?

While most millionaires choose to keep their fortunes to themselves, a handful have pledged to give away money in various philanthropic ventures, as of 2016. Warren Buffet and Microsoft founder Bill Gates have teamed up to form a campaign intended to convince the rich to participate.

Among the small handful of millionaires who choose to share their wealth are Sarah Blakely, CEO of Spanx, who gives away money to help women around the world have access to better education and business resources. George Kaiser, Vladimir Potanin, Harold Hamm and Manoj Bhargava also share their fortunes with others. However, they generally do so through foundations or associations rather than randomly handing out cash.
