Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin, and it is about 81 miles north-northwest of Chicago. Milwaukee varies in elevation from 500 feet to 800 feet above sea level. The city is located at the junction of the Milwaukee, Menomonee and Kinnickinnic rivers. Milwaukee's major airport, General Mitchell International Airport, is located about 6 miles from the city's downtown area. Milwaukee is a leading producer of beer, and its location on one of the Great Lakes makes it an ideal port for shipping raw materials and resources.
