Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega, is from Barranquilla, Colombia. In the 63 years that the Miss Universe pageant has been held, Vega is only the second woman from Colombia to win the prestigious title.

Paulina Vega was named Miss Universe on January 25, 2015, when she took the stage in Miami during the annual competition. Previously Miss Colombia 2013, the 22-year-old beauty queen became the second woman from her country to win the Miss Universe crown — the first since Luz Marina Zuluaga in 1958. With the fame and publicity that comes with the crown, Vega plans to collaborate with organizations in the battle against HIV/AIDS.
