What are morning devotions?

A morning to devotion is personal prayer or scripture reading time. Some people also use special devotional books to conduct daily devotions. The point is to allocate a few minutes or more in the morning to spend in solitude with God.

Some people have specific prayers that they read or say every morning as part of their devotional. Other people use devotional time to read verses of scripture and then they pray spontaneously to God. Devotionals may also involve the use of a journal to write down thoughts or reactions to scriptures read during a given morning's devotional. Some people spend up to two hours in morning devotionals.
