Financial advisors earn a median wage of $67,520 per year, as recorded in May 2012 in the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook. A median wage of $67,520 means that 50 percent of financial advisors in the workforce earn more than that amount while the other 50 percent earn less.
This figure only includes base wages and does not take the payment of bonuses into consideration. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects job growth of 27 percent for financial advisors during the decade running from 2012 to 2022. This growth equates to more than 60,000 new jobs expected in the field.
