FIOS equipment charges are listed at the bottom of the FIOS website, with router leases at $10 a month, a set-top box at $12 a month and a broadcast fee at $1.99, as of November 2015. Each fee is per device set up in a home, and as such, extra installed equipment will incur more costs.

Although some of the packages available through Verizon may seem enticing, it is important to consider the costs of equipment throughout the year. These extras can often push the annual costs of FIOS much higher than the advertised price. As an alternative to the standard contract, consumers can also purchase their own routers and modems, removing any lease fees from their bills.
