The Trans Am is officially known as the Pontiac Firebird, and the SLP Firehawk version produces 335 horsepower and 350 pounds-foot of torque at 4,000 revolutions per minute. This is a single example of a Trans Am, as there were many versions built by General Motors between 1967 and 2002.
The base models of the first Trans Ams built in 1967 had an output of 215 horsepower. This rose to 320 horsepower with the introduction of high-output engine models later that year. The final Firebird Trans Am Grand Turismo Americano model was produced in 2002 and had the WS6 designation. It had a V8 engine that put out 310 horsepower.
