How much money does an actor make?

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median hourly wage for actors in 2012 was $20.26. This refers to the pay scale that falls in the middle. Half of all the salaries are above it, and half are below it.

Most actors work part time, and these wages were based on a wide range of schedules, including evening, night and holiday hours. The actors at the bottom of the pay scale made less than $8.92 an hour, while the top earners had an hourly rate of more than $90. Many of these actors belonged to unions, such as the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists or Actors’ Equity Association.
