To become an illustrator, a minimum education of a high school diploma or GED is usually required. Aspiring illustrators are encouraged to take art classes to develop and hone their artistic skills. A post-secondary education ranges from single classes to Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Studio Art or Art History.
