How much do used log homes cost?

The resale value of log homes is determined by the size of the home, the value of homes in the area at the time of sale and the quality of construction, which includes upgrades. Statistics show that log homes cost about as much as traditional frame houses.
On average, a new log home costs $150 to $200 per square foot to build. Assuming the house maintains its value and does not depreciate, that means buyers can expect to pay at least $300,000 for a 2,000 square foot log home. A similarly sized log home in a very desirable area or a home that features a lot of upgrades may cost more.
