How much is a war ration book worth?

World War II ration books are very common, making them items with more personal rather than monetary value. A knowledgeable collector pays between $4 and $8 for a complete ration book and $2 to $4 for a partial book.
Beginning in the spring of 1942, the United States government issued a series of ration books as a way to ensure that everyone got a fair share of consumer goods that were in short supply. Four books were issued through late 1943 with a fifth one prepared but never used because rationing ceased in 1945 when the war ended. Large numbers of ration books survive today partly because many individuals never used the last ones issued to them.
