By Forinfos - 25/04/2025 - 0 comments
Multiply rational expressions by simplifying or reducing the fractions, multiply the top rows of the equation and then multiply the bottom rows. The process is the same as multiplying fractions.
- Simplify the fractions
Simplify the fractions the same way you do when multiplying regular fractions. Use cancelling, common denominators and common factors between the top and bottom rows to get a simplified equation.
- Multiply the numbers and expressions across the top rows
Write the answer on the top row.
- Multiply the numbers and expressions across the bottom rows
Write the answer on the bottom row.
- Simplify again if necessary
Check the final answer to ensure it can't be reduced any further.
