How do you do nail art designs?

There are dozens of ways to create nail art, from stripes and polka dots to flowers and animals. One of the most popular nail art techniques is water marbling. To get this look, you need a small bowl, water, a toothpick, Vaseline and at least three nail polish colors, including white.
Paint your nails white
Use white nail polish to give your nails a base coat. This makes it easier for the other colors to stick to your nails. Let them dry completely before moving to the next step.
Fill the bowl with water
Make sure the bowl has at least an inch of room temperature water. Water that is too cold or hot affects the consistency of the polish and impacts the results.
Add the first nail polish color to the bowl
Take your first contrasting color and hold the brush close to the surface of the water. Let a drop of nail polish fall into the water. It should spread out into a circle.
Add the second color
Take your second contrasting color and repeat the process. Try to drip the second color in the middle of the first circle of polish.
Repeat until a bull's-eye forms
Continue to add drops of color until the bowl has several rings of concentric circles. You can alternate two colors or add additional colors. Aim for five to eight rings.
Swirl the design
Place the tip of the toothpick into the center of the polish and lightly drag it outward. This creates the marbled pattern.
Cover your fingers with Vaseline
Vaseline prevents nail polish from sticking to the skin around your nail.
Dip your nail into the design
Turn your finger so the nail is facing down over the best part of the design. Gently dip your nail onto the design and into the water. Use the toothpick to detach the excess polish while the nail is still in the water.
Remove from water, and clean
Quickly take your finger out of the water. Blow on the nail to help the polish dry. Once the nail is dry, use a paper towel to rub off the Vaseline and excess nail polish.
Repeat on the other nails
Repeat the process on the rest of your nails. Try using different colors or making different patterns.
