As of June 2014, the name of the most recently discovered planet is Gliese 832c. It was discovered by an international group of astronomers led by Australian researcher Robert Wittenmyer. Express UK states that the astronomers claim that Gliese 832c is the most Earth-like planet yet discovered.
According to the Huffington Post, Gliese 832c is a 'stone's throw' from the earth, situated at a distance of 16 light years. The planet is five times larger than Earth and seems to have a 'habitable zone' like Earth, with a high probability of the existence of water. The planet is orbiting around a red dwarf star, which has a lower temperature than our sun.
