Oscar winner and model Lupita Nyong'o was voted People magazine's most beautiful woman in 2014, while Maxim selected supermodel Candice Swanepoel for the top position. AskMen ranked Emilia Clarke as 2014's most beautiful woman.

Emilia Clarke is best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones" and was described by AskMen as "classically gorgeous." Lupita Nyong'o responded to her selection by People magazine as the most beautiful woman of 2014 by recalling the insecurities she felt about her race as a youth. She told the magazine that she had considered white skin and long hair to be the hallmarks of beauty from a young age.
