What is a navigation bar?

A navigation bar is a row of links on a webpage that allows users to move from one page on a website to another page or from one section of a webpage to another section of the webpage without scrolling. Sites may have a single primary navigation bar on each page or a primary navigation bar on the homepage and secondary navigation bars on other pages.

Navigation bar design and implementation are very important to the success of a website since they directly impact the experience of visitors. A poorly designed navigation bar makes it difficult for users to navigate a site and decreases instances of repeat visitors.
