Does Navionics provide free updates?

Navionics does not provide free updates to its users. Navionics users may purchase a one-year subscription to the service that allows them to continually download updated nautical charts. The subscription must be renewed after one year to download new updates.

Navionics updates its nautical charts and bathymetry maps on a daily basis using the company's own surveys, industry publications and user-generated data. Approximately 2,000 updates are added every day. Purchasing a one-year subscription entitles a user to download updates to their chart plotter as often as they need. Updates must be downloaded to a Navionics card, such as Navionics+, Gold, HotMaps Premium or SonarChartâ„¢ for Garmin GPS.
