What is Navy Arms?

Navy Arms is a firearms company that was founded in 1956 by Val Forgett, Jr. The company was started in his basement in Teaneck, N.J.

The Navy Arms company produces replica firearms. The first replicas that Navy Arms made were the 1851 Navy revolvers. As of 2014, Navy Arms has grown into a multi-division company that includes Gibbs Rifle Company, Inc. and Old Western Scrounger Ammunition. These additional companies have produced relic firearms and ammunition that has become hard to find.

As of 2014, the company is run by Val Forgett III, the son of Val Forgett, Jr. Before Val Forgett Jr. died, he served as the president of the National Firearms Museum, where his Navy Arms prototypes are on display.
