How often do you need to get a BLS recertification?

BLS certification holders need to get recertified after the end of their two-year validity period. Holders of expired BLS cards have a six-month time period after the date of expiration to take a recertification course to maintain their certification.
BLS recertification is typically available at training centers that also offer certification courses, such as Thunder Bird Health Care or the ACLS training Center. Anyone who passes the certification or recertification test immediately receives access to a digital copy of his provider card and receives a physical copy through the mail. BLS certification does not require an in-person practical skills test.
