What is a normal blood iron count?
By Forinfos - 31/08/2025 - 0 comments
According to WebMD, the normal range for iron is 70 to 175 mcg/dl for men, 50 to 150 mcg/dl for women and 50 and 120 mcg/dl for children. This is a reference range that can vary by the lab doing the blood test.
If the iron value in the blood test is too low, it can signal some medical conditions like anemia. A high value can signal other medical conditions such as an infection, kidney failure and lead poisoning. To perform the test, blood is drawn via a needle through a vein in the arm. Some bruising, redness and soreness may occur.
