When was Norwegian Air Shuttle founded?

The Norwegian Air Shuttle was founded on January 22, 1993. It was founded by the current CEO, Bjørn Kjos. Upon its establishment, the airline consisted of Fokker F-50s and operated flights on the west coast of Norway.

It continues to grow since its inception and is now accredited as the second best airline shuttle company in northern Europe, as reported by Sky Trax survey. It expands its network and opens new bases, an example being the one in Helsinki, Finland. This growth also includes the acquisition of new long-haul aircrafts, such as the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, three of which were purchased in 2011.
