Does a notarized document ever expire?
By Forinfos - 06/09/2025 - 0 comments
The notarization of a document never expires, as long as the seal used during the notarization process is still valid, states the National Notary Association. When in doubt, it is always a good idea to seek legal counsel.
All legal documents are different. Some have conditions that expire in a given amount of time. When a notary places his or her seal on the document, as long as the date on the seal is current and has not expired, the document is valid, according to the National Notary Association. However, a person should always read through the document to find any time-sensitive information and request the help of the court or an attorney to be sure the items outlined in said document are valid.
