Does a notarized document ever expire?

When a notary places his or her seal on the document, as long as the date on the seal is current and has not expired, the document is valid, according to the National Notary Association. However, a person should always read through the document to find any time-sensitive information and request the help of the court or an attorney to be sure the items outlined in said document are valid.
