Why do old people get blood spots on their skin?
By Forinfos - 17/10/2025 - 0 comments
As people age, they are more prone to blood spots because the skin thins and the layer of fat underneath it shrinks. As this happens, blood vessels become more prone to breaking, as stated by WebMD.
When this breaking occurs, bruising take places, which resembles blood spots. Aging skin takes longer to recover than younger skin, and it may appear drier, notes the National Institutes of Health. To help reduce blood spots, lotions and other products can be used to hydrate the skin. Keeping skin shielded from the sun can also do this by preventing further damage and maintaining the skin's vitality.
