Does the online game Our World cost money to play?

"OurWorld" is available for free, as of June 2015. However, players use gems to purchase items in the game. Gems can be earned in the game, or players can purchase gems for a fee.

Each player begins the game by creating his character. He can then buy items for his character and his character's condo.

A player can purchase gems or upgrade to a Resident account, which provides gems and other benefits, including a larger condo, exclusive items and access to exclusive areas. He can purchase a Resident account for one month or one year, or set up a monthly membership. With a monthly membership, he receives a set amount of gems per month.
