Walking is a favorite exercise for seniors because it can be done anywhere and at any time. It's also low-impact, but good for losing weight and building muscle and endurance. Yoga is also low-impact, but slower paced, so it's easier on the body, but good for building flexibility and strength. Water aerobics and swimming are both done in water and offer better protection from falls and injuries. Both water aerobics and swimming are good endurance training exercises as well.
