According to Cambridge Dictionaries Online, an organogram is a diagram that explains the relationship between different people in an organization. An organogram describes the jobs of each establishment at different levels and describes their relationships. A common name for organogram is organizational chart.
Wikipedia states there are three types of organograms: hierarchical, matrix and flat. There is no preferred type of organogram, but an effective organogram lists each job in order of hierarchy. An organogram uses boxes to organize each job position and lines to connect the relationship between each position. An organogram can be split into smaller sections when the chart becomes too expansive.
