The oscar has a deep, compressed oval shaped body, and the color can vary according to sex, size, age and even mood. The fish can live up to 10 years. Because the oscar is such a large fish, it needs a tank of at least 100 gallons. The water temperature should range between 72 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
