Is Oscar Pistorius guilty?
By Forinfos - 18/05/2025 - 0 comments
On Sept. 11, 2014, Oscar Pistorius was found guilty of culpable homicide in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. In that ruling, Pistorius was found not guilty of murder.
Pistorius received a five-year sentence from the judge for his conviction. The term of the sentence was called "shockingly light" by the prosecution. In Dec. 2014, the prosecution filed for an appeal of the murder charge for which Pistorius was found not guilty in the previous proceeding. A successful appeal would mean Pistorius is guilty of murder, which carries a minimum 15-year sentence in South Africa where the proceedings are taking place.
